Sugar plums piss me off.

No that is for Ten Forward. No science or technology issue there.

The linked to book is from what I saw a continuous attack on those on the political left and that is neither science nor technology and is definitely political and therefore belongs in Hot and Spicy.

I didn't recognize the name but you're right (I checked). I'd never heard that the Unabomber was a mathematician, not surprising as I haven't really been inclined to follow the "careers" of such people as him. That of course makes it even more of a Hot and Spicy Topic.

I didn't really bother looking up the school he taught at before. I just remember that when they arrested him, they were surprised about how well educated he was.

Judge Kevin McCarthy today found insufficient evidence for three of the four counts.

Prosecutor Conrad Del Rosario said he will appeal the ruling and try to have the three counts reinstated.

A fourth count that was allowed to stand was for Childs' alleged refusal to hand over the passwords to the system to network administrators.

"No actual (network) services ... were affected," Shikman maintained today.
