as usual, i got this link from /. (slashdot.org for the uninformed) and it deals with new communicator tech for soldiers in the field.

(it has bonus points for using iridium frequency band!)

basically boils down to a patch of cloth that is tied to a satellite network for two way communication and gps location. interesting read.
