i have 3 stories for you today. the first story is the only space one today. an interesting article outlining how artificial intelligence is helping us to explore space. i liked the article and think it is worth a read. article here: http://www.silicon.com/management/public-sector/2010/10/08/artificial-intelligence-helping-man-to-explore-the-cosmos-39746280/

next up is something from the bizarre files. most ww2 buffs know that the british employed a genius program of building inflatable versions of tanks and trucks and things like that. we russia has been continuing to improve the technology to new modern versions. these inflatable military hardware "balloons" not only look exactly like the real thing but are made of material that fools radar to look real as well. cool video included. article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11511886

lastly those silly guys and gals at google have been secretly testing driverless cars, not only have been testing them recently but almost a year ago these cars were spotted in california.  article and video here: http://techcrunch.com/2010/10/09/google-car-video/

See, drone AI is important! ;D It reads like an opening chapter to an Asimov novel. Cool stuff.  8)
