ST Phase2 inspired ships
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:29:22 am »
i made a lowpoly model of the phase2 Connie and thought it could use a model ship of a typical villain race to fight against , so i made a Klingon D-7 Phase2 version
here are some pics of the D-7 and of my Phase2 connie in A2

and the Saladin Phase2 upgrade

sorry for the not that good quallity of the A2 pics, i work on my older secondary PC now and there i have not that high antialiasing settings

Star Trek Phase II was what TNG became... It involved Kirk and company on their second 5-year mission. It was cancelled and repurposed into the Motion Picture because Star Wars did very well.

So time period is between TOS and TMP, immediately after TOS.

More or less, yes.

I tend to think of Phase 2 as a slight offshoot universe/timeline - it doesn't quite jive with my version of events - but, of course, that's just me.

i think phase2 fits verry well between TOS and TMP as it is more or less open for some speculations and those speculations show how StarFleet got from cylindrical non linear warp nacelles, to those linear warp nacelles of the TMP ships.
the Phase2 connie Enterprise is what Deckers ship would have looked like prior to the Motion Picture refit and this is even more fitting as a retro inspired ship than that sh**** JJprise.

It also makes sence for refit to those TOS ships that wheren't old enough to justify the cost of  TMP level overhuals but still need new equpment to remain combat effective against the newer ships. ;D

Thanks, for the models
downloaded the Kligon ship, which is my favorite ship from ST the kligon Heavy Cruiser. It is odd that I have only released 1 but have tons of Connies
