Tried both the demo and the full game downloaded from amazon, can not get ether to work. It starts loading but then crashes before the start screen is displayed. using XP sp3, any ideas?

no idea sorry to say try running it in admin mode see if that helps had to do it for a few games in the past
I run windows 7 so not sure whats happening with it :(
you could try posting over on there forums they maybe able to help you get it running

Great. I waited too long, my password and the captcha code wasn't working, I was heading to work, so I really didn't think that an hour would make a difference, sale ended. Smh. Now I will wait it out again. I'm sooo mad.

Added the enterprise (tos) and some of Zorg`s Cardassian ships










The starbase is a rework of a stock one in the game retextured and messed with the mesh abit to make it cardassian

Beautiful work. Have you deciphered the weapon textures for alterations yet?

Not yet still adding in ships and bases its taking me awhile to do but will woth it I know almost everything in the game can be changed :)
so far 30 ships and 8 starbases done from 5 races

plan for mod

step 1 . add a lot of ships and bases 100+ so there is lots to pick from right now they all use the same setup
step 2 . spec all ships for shields and weapons eg. how many wepons slots a ship has and what class of shields it can use plus how fast the ship can travel
Step 3. Mod weapons to look like trek weapons :) and work out if new weapons can be added

For warp the game use`s T-drives they kind of like Warp engines short jumps across the sector works well just need to see
if it be modded to do other things

For modding the game all you need is Notepad,photoshop and software that can export .x format I use Ultimate Unwrap3D for importing .mod files and Exporting to .x files that the game uses

When I get time I`ll do up a Tutorials & Guides on how too add Ships and Bases to the game.

all of the above and bump maps
 the texture map has to be a single one unlike sfc which you use as many as you like but had np
we mapping models to use a single texture it don't take me too long

what are the sky boxes like for this? are those asteroids models, sprites or just part of the skybox

Those are real asteroids models you can hit them and damage your ship even destroy it lol
you also mine them for ore which you then sell to get money to buy weapons,systems and ships

the skybox if I rember right is 3-5 textures per space background which you can change

I tried to figure out the demo but couldn't even not as easy as Eve.It really doesn't tell you what to do and this is stock Starpoint game not the Star Trek mod.It does look good tho lmost like Legacey UU Mod.

targeting Starbases etc Normaly click on the starbase in the middle its a pain sometimes but it does work

For hailing,Docking and the likes Bottem righthand coner

So if you want to Hail a ship or Starbase you First must Select it then Press the Hail Button
And they will reply to you

For Docking its the same Just press the Dock button after Selecting the Starbase

When I get time I`ll port it over all the Starbases,outpost and such use model parts
so you set them up as you want the base too look just going to take time to do it

Curious DD if it is possible to introduce EAW type things like 6 shield facings or if that is locked into 4?  It might be interesting in converting EAW/OP into Starpoint.

not looked into shields just yet but if they anthing like the weapons slots cant see why you cant add more shield faces
upped the weapon slots up to 12 for my borg cube to test it works fine just got to work out how to place icons for the wepons so they don't side close
to each other on the ui

been thinking a total Eaw mod would be cool just a lot of work to do
but one good thing eaw has lots of races and the stock models would do to get it started
