Very nice

I like all of the ships (especially the Stalwart class), and that uniform is great!

Klingon Throneship Concept:
I'm not big on post TMP era Klingons but that looks very awe inspiring!
-
Very nice, can't wait to see some other views of it!
-
Iwas just thinking the same thing; more orthos and a size comparison please :)
-
That Freakin ROCKS a hammer head klink DN :notworthy: :notworthy: Dude you never fail on creating the awesome! Please fit in a mauler version for the design :smitten:
-
Awsome work mate, they all look great. Uniform looks spot on!
-
Wow! The Klingon Throneship is incredible. :)

Oh my :notworthy: I love this design :smitten: its got many themes of use possable. I see a damn cool Rom but i also see a radical Bwing starwars style cruiser.
-
man....your sure know how to tempt a feller. Sweet design and the art work is superb.
-
Agreed that is one cool Romulan. :)
-
I would not ever want to desecrate an Atolm creation, but what about turning that Rom' 90 degrees making the top view the side profile instead?
-
I love some of these ships (and that new take on the uniform), but...
what is that small thing lurking under the Stalwart-class? ANother design of yours? Any larger views of it?
-
I would not ever want to desecrate an Atolm creation, but what about turning that Rom' 90 degrees making the top view the side profile instead?
Would mean moving the bridge but it is doable :coolsmiley:

Would not have to move anything ;) still doable.

TOS anyone?

i love it. it fits nicely into the tos timeline and i always loved the old paintsheme. nice work.

Reman Falx-Class Bird-of-Prey:
-
Still after that Probert Vertical Warbird lineage, eh? Love it.
-
Nice wonder if Pepperman will model this one?
-
Updating an old DS9 kitbash to give her a bit more credibility :)
Sagittarius-Class, USS Raging Queen:

Credibility indeed!

Sagittarius-Class, USS Raging Queen:
Like the Saucer and especially like the warp engine design, you could put a photon launcher at the bottom of the saucer and have a really good destroyer. Never have been a fan of the lower hull on that design for the carrier version it usually is.
If you move the parts around you would have a good Consitution/excelisor crossover look too!
-
I like the saucer and the engine. The rest is not my taste, but not bad.
-
You know, I'm crazy enough to attempt making that particular ship. Just need some other views.
-
Might I seggest a Centar/Miranda style Bridge reflecting the smaller intended original size. ;)
-
I am a fan of your work but not the Ds9 design. Warp and 2ndary rules but as always i
have an issue with something this time its the saucer. Not that its not sweet , It looks spot perfect. But that i am not a fan of the general design. If it were a tmp dn or con style saucer. Possable could I waist your time with a extra drawing or 2 ?
Rule the era
I just cant see the cost effect of cutting up an excel design to do this in real fed time line.Recycle would be the goal i would think. War has its cannon fodder this design is one of many. I remember it with tmp style conie warps.

Daedalus-Class Variant, USS Republic (Ensign Kirk's first assignment):
This next one came about as a collaboration between myself and a good mate of mine who goes by the handle of BolianAdmiral... He and I were musing on actually the Republic, and I had shocked him by the "reserved" nature of the first design, while he worked on his idea (link is posted below the actual finished idea). Upon seeing his initial concept I said "why not" :) , so I refined the concept further to what you see here...
Icarus-Class:
- Icarus-Class represents Starfleet's next step for the venerable Daedalus-Class for a newer starship designed for deep space exploration. Through lessons learned from Daedalus, Icarus has proven to be more effective than its immediate predecessor in technology and endurance. Built in small numbers, Starfleet launched these vessels as extreme long-ranged scouts, as they were constructing their next generation of starship: Constitution-Class
BolianAdmiral's initial concept:
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1603/conceptdoodle.gif (http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1603/conceptdoodle.gif)
Oh and BTW, you guys might want this for the Sagittarius:
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/543/conceptfederationsagitt.jpg (http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/543/conceptfederationsagitt.jpg)
-
I love some of these ships (and that new take on the uniform), but...
what is that small thing lurking under the Stalwart-class? ANother design of yours? Any larger views of it?
It's Admiral Liea's ship
-
Not wild about the 'rib' or whatever running north-south across the sphere of the Icarus class, but in all other things it does look like an excellent refinement of the Daedalus. Perhaps a refit of the Republic's ilk?
On that note, do you think the Constellation was one of these and upgraded to Constitution statistics? A lot of fans like to wildly speculate about why the Constellation had 1017- some paint it as a different class refitted to constitution configuration.

Romulan Talis-Class Warbird:

Special thanks to Forbin for allowing me to revamp his original shape as it can be seen here:

Romulan Imperious-Class (Imperial-Hawk) Warbird:

I like the rom-war era ship (at least, thats what it looks like to me). That imperius hawk looks like it would go very well in WZs fleet.
-
Romulan Pravus-Class Stormbird:

-
Romulan Pravus-Class Stormbird:
Sense of Humor Alert:
What a blatant kitbash of the existing WZ45/Atolm models!
Look at that WASTE of material with the pylons holding the third warp engine when the third warp engine could be simply held up by extending the rear fin on the main body.
Seriously....
Really, it's a nice plausible design that builds on existing Romulan tech.
Well done.
-
ok..a senator/d7 cross..that has got to get made..like..now..lol
-
Hey Atolm, are you by any chance an industrial/product designer? The drawing style looks a lot like it.
-
Negative on that mate...
Reman Nex-Class PreTOS Stormbird:

Romulan Volare-Class Strikehawk:
-
Sweet pics all
-
thnx mate
-
The Talis looks very much like the Romulan War-era craft that were floating around in the encyclopedia. Rather disappointed they didn't use that ship instead of bashing out an enemy green warbird (despite how awesome that warbird was, even without the bird underside).
The Volare looks interesting because it can still look like a retrofit of an earlier class... ie with new warp engines from stolen plans added to an existing hull (per Hasnen's dropped line in BoT that the Romulans Stole warp drive).
I can't ignore the perspective issues on the Imperial Hawk though, though the drawing is pretty.
-
Romulan Alcyon-Class Strikehawk:

I do indeed :)

Romulan Lunata-Class Bird-of-Prey:

The wings LOOK kind of thick from that perspective. I'm not sure if they really are, but its throwing me a little.
-
Trust me, its just the angle :)
Romulan Nequam-Class Warbird:
-
Atolm, did you catch Bonk's message in the STO thread?
-
Something about the Lunata and Praedo classes suggest to me that they might be Reman craft instead of Romulan vessels.
It would be really interesting Atlom if you were the designated concept artist for a game covering a potential Romulan Civil War.
-
Romulan Rapere-Class PreTOS Warbird:

Nice :D

Reman Sagum-Class Bird-of-Prey 00
(http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/5100/remansagumclassbirdofpr.jpg)
-
Totaly awesome i love your new work.
How does this look Atolm?
Add 1 more non perfect model but a start .
-
The telum looks like the last visages of whatever Vulcan design hierarchy was left in the Romulans as they began their own shipbuilding program.
...or am I reading too much into a color experiment with red :D ?
I like the crest on the bow of the Sagum. Taking it further you could call it a hallmark of Reman ships in the TOS/Early TMP era. Maybe it eventually evolves into the decorations on the bow of the D'Derix.
-
that was quick. Looking great.
-
Romulan alcyon class from the Atolm dry dock and design. ;D

Been busy, much?
-
Romulan Novum-Class Warbird:
This would make a good senator with the 3rd engine arch.
-
Romulan Larus-Class Strikehawk 00
(http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/9862/romulanlarusclassstrike.jpg)
So far this one my all star fave design :smitten:
For its poly this might work for a Lod slot or a fighter variant  ?
-
Wow! Kreeargh, nicework so far!
It's so nice to see the Romulans and the Remans getting some attention.
-
That Shrikehawk looks like it has an attitude. I love it!

Pretos Fed looks cool but i am a fan of the vulcan tech warp for the era. Whats with that Rom? Damn you with these sketches evil - good damn you :P
-
Federation Mann-Class:
-
Thats sweet  , is it a prespective thing or is one warp more pointy than the other ?
-
interesting :)
-
A lot of awesome stuff got muted when ENT came out. Good to see it being revisted :)
Not sure how I feel about the collectors being integrated into the nacelles, but overall the design looks spectacular. Gonna touch up the Baton Rouge next? How about the DY series?
-
Federation Mann-Class, USS Aspinok refit:
-
This version is awesome! It has a little bit of a Star-Wars-y feel. I wonder if there is anything that can be done about the flat profile.
-
She looks more of a thoughtfull pretos class than the ball and bubble ships past shown by other art for the era. I love the refit.
-

Agreed ;D
-
The etching on the front face, the hammer-head appearance of the forward hull, the cylindrical bodies, greebling, and pearlescent white hull are all reminders of the Tantive IV without actually BEING the Tantive IV.
Ironic since the latest Trek move, dated pre-TOS, took inspiration from the original Star Wars in terms of pacing (and borrowing a few blaster effects for the new phasers).

something different again...

Finished...
Federation Aker-Class:

I'm guessing it's either a Tech exchange between fed and rom (or perhaps someone else) or a future inter-galactic voyage ship of some sort.
-
Nah, the ship is 100% Federation, and she isn't that large (D'deridex, Scimitar, Dominion Battleship, Voth and many other vessels are as large or larger). Also she is not extra-galactic.
-
Well, I'm 0 for 2 >.<
-
appears by the time this ship enters service the sona have joined the federation.
-
Eh,
It always bugs me to see when anyone looks an assymetrical ship they assume it has to have something to do with the Breen, or when something is boomerang-shaped it has to have something to do with the son'a. I made my guess at a rom legacy mainly because I do see romulan details and designs in her. Assymetry isn't enough to assume that it has something to do with the Breen, and a boomerang shape isn't enough to assume it has something to do with the son'a. Purple glows or Green glows isn't enough to assume it has something to do with the Dominion or Borg respectively. Thinking like that limits your design repertoire and imagination.
-
Aker-Class:(careful, its big)

I have a hard time believe either romulan or klingon empires would join the federation. Ally maybe, join no. Sona on the other hand..
-
That's part of what I'm saying. But this is what I'm trying to say, this has no bearing on the Star Trek. If race A has a ship who has a bunch of design elements, and one of them happens to be assymmetry, I don't think it's fair to say that any ship with asymmetry is somehow related to race A. This applies to Star Trek, Babylon 5, anything.
-
The Aker would make a beautifull post tng colony ship  .
-
I'm guessing it's either a Tech exchange between fed and rom (or perhaps someone else) or a future inter-galactic voyage ship of some sort.
Atlom's stuff makes me think of the Cardassians, largely because I see some of the curves and architecture from DS9 in his details. The pylons especially.
It's a style that works well on other ships at times (like the Romulans), but only a few of his federation ships struck me as being purely federation creations.
-
Oddly enough, when you start to look closely at the onscreen evidence, I don't think there's an especially consistent Federation style. There are broad generalities - generally speaking we usually expect to see a saucer, some form of secondary hull and twin nacelles, yet the specific elements vary markedly in scale and aesthetic even within the same general era, and there are marked deviations from the norm to consider too. When it comes to the finer details like window size and shape, hull text and other marking and even coloration, there is no hard and fast rule. Then there are details like aztecs and hull panels etc, WZ wrote a pretty good piece about that a while back which really highlighted the variations you can see in official, onscreen Fed designs.
On a personal note though, Atolm, I'm loving the Aker, and those K-Roms you posted need to be built. (I can't volunteer though - my PC has died its final death and I only have my crappy laptop which is no good for anything. :'()
-
Fed styles have always gone for grey/metal hulls, prominent Warp nacelles and bridge modules, deflectors (usually), and the rest is really era-dependent. TOS used simple shapes, TMP introduced art-deco, perfect circles, and functional machinery, TNG went organic with ellipses and TNG+ (FC and so on), introduced 'black box' elements on to the grey shapes of TNG, but keeping the organic profiles.
Now, the "scales" I see in Atlom's design keep bringing me back to the segmented hull sections on DS9 (and by extension, Cardassians as a whole). Though when arrayed as feathers I see the scheme working as Romulan/Reman designs as well. So it's odd to see them on Federaiton vessels, since no Federation ship has segmentation this way.
-
That "scaled" look is also very much an Atolmian thing - just the way he makes a lot of his panel designs :). I like how it looks on the Mann - it's much more gritty than most feds go, and that speaks as to the pre-TOS nature of it.
-

Oh; this another one of thoughs CCCP types?
-
(http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/5195/federationwarpprototype.jpg)
I like the coloring on this one
think I would change the coloring on the engines slightly to more match the lower hull by graying the rim right after the bussards then area with all the little notches, where the emblam starts, white

Small off-topic blurb.. am I the only one that heard Beastie Boys with that last sentence? ;)
Looking good as always CR.. ;)

that is Freaking AWESOME! It really pulls the medusan design into something just more alien enough. Recognizable but definitely exotic. I think I recognize a few more of those nokia bits you play around with ;)

WOW :o Looks almost organic
;)

No offence Atolm. I see things wrong I guess the proof concept model reminds me of something that should have been in the the movie WallE. :thumbsup
That TOS Romulan Imperial Cruiser is sweet. You need to get a 3d printer and 3d your work to its total glory. Combo up your own meshes and textures would make a SWEET 3d model.
-
I think you and I have the same washer.
-
FINALLY figured out what that reminded me of.. the Liberator from Blake's 7. :)
If it reminds one of an alien ship from a TV show, then it's got to be good.. ;)
-
The Liberator? Really?
-
The Liberator? Really?
Yeah, look at shots 3 to 5, and then look at these. Totally reminded me of the Liberator..
