How do you read an SSD?

<< < (2/6) > >>

**DONOTDELETE**:
The inital sfb SSD's, that came printed front and back on sheets of paper and had to be cut apart had no information on them except for the actual shields, sensor/scanner and damage control/excess damage tracks plus shields.

The more modern ones have one ship per side (usually) and all the weapons tables needed for that ship, as well as shield minimal+full power costs, life support costs, IIRC hull size, turn mode, move cost, everything needed for that ship. Indeed, carriers/scs had boxes for all their shuttles/fighters to show weapons fired/damage as well as booster packs when there was room, otherwise they had in some cases sheets with entire carrier/scs/sscs groups on it. Same with P/F's, nothig more fun than keeping track of 6 P/F SSD's and doing EA for all of them.

Currently, and depending on what product you buy, EVERYTHING you need, including a 32 impulse movement chart is on the SSD, which greatly cuts down on memorization and book work during play.

For those that find SFC complicated, they would simply scream like a bitch and run if they were forced to play SFB, rofl. It is, ALOT of work, and for some of us, who grew up playing games with pen and paper, grease pencils and dice, it is MORE FUN that way.

Have a nice day!

And we had to walk 10 miles barefoot in the snow, uphill both ways, to get to the gaming shop to get the latest Captain's Log so we could go through the addendum to find out they'd closed that ridiculous loophole the resident rules lawyer was trying to exploit. Memories. :D

You had feet?! And snow too?! We had to walk through hot lava on our bloody ankle stumps just so we could press our noses on the glass of the game shop, hoping to one day to buy an SSD booklet.
