Compiled script sizes.
« on: October 17, 2003, 09:46:47 am »
How does one make a compiled mission script as small as the ones that originally came with SFC3?  I have several mission scripts, all debuged and working, and I compile them as release versions, but they are still around 1.3 MB each.  The original scripts were only something like 400K.  I'm a native of the C++ Builder/Delphi world and have little knowledge of the workings of the MS VC++ IDE.  Other than using it for SFC3 mission scripting, I've only used it to make NT service message DLL's.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, especially by the poor buggers who want to download my mod over 56K dialup.

Never mind.  Turns out the file was not building to the location I thought it was.  Setting it to "Release" does make it as small as the original Taldren scripts.  I claim temporary insanity (or is that stupidity?).

Thanks anyway.
