Marine editing

Could anyone tell how to edit how many marines can fit on a ship. I've modded before but i cant seem to find out where to do it. I think i can do a little something in the default core. Please help with this problem.

if its SFC3

Look at the marines column, you will see something like, 2:3:4

2 = Min (AI)
3 = Max
4 = Ship comes with.

I belive the max that the UI can handle is 99
