Hey FireSoul. I know that OP+ is TMP based and that you are doing these so you can add them to it, but do you think that maybe, just possibly, is there even a small chance that you'd consider doing these variants to the original TOS versions of Atra's NCA/NCL models? I'd love to have these for my TOS models pack.

Hm.

Problem #1: The textures would be completely different.. and I mean completely.. The Aztec isn't even the same, and that doesn't help.

Problem #2: you pinned it right: I'm doing this for OP+. I have so many other things to do that at the current pace, I still wouldn't be done in May. I don't think I would take the time to work on models I won't be using within the project.

Oh well. I had a feeling that would be the case. Thanks anyway.

Besides, OP+ is not exclusively TMP. It also depends on the year of release of said ship...

First, I'd like to thank you all who got me started on LEttering and texturing..  Of course, I have some others to do, but real life is being a problem at the moment.

Second, .. another release:

NCC 1689 Ibn Batuta - F-NSR - Federation New Survey Cruiser :  http://klingon.stasis.ca/models/federation/fs_fnsr.zip

True, true. I was refering to the models package though. Not to the actual FYA dates of the ships.

FireSoul, I'm DLing the NSR now. Thanks again.

They're not, actually. It's just the way the Symmetry shrink turned out.

Whooo!

This class has grown on me like a fungus.

I think the main reason I didnt like it was the lack of texturing on the top of the structures that connect the top warps. Fortunately, there is a seperate texture map for that I can alter.

Now it wont look like the stock taldren FF. Yuck.

Nice job FS, btw. WHo do the original credits for the class go to?

Hey FS, this is outstanding work.  Granted, these models only reflect minor changes too the original model, but its really neat how you where able too put noticable, physical differences between each class of SFB ship.  And I really like how you design things for a TMP type style for an SFB mod.  The last model, the Carrier, is a really neat concept idea.

Good work man!

The kicker is with an optomizing installer creator, any file that's identical to any other previously catalogued file in the installer is skipped and stored. That's a massive saving with dealing with these variants noted in this thread. Additionally, if you use an installer package that has a 'dictionary' type of compression, it will recognize commonly used data sequences and optomize on that too. Just like I just noted with the files themselves.

So.. this is why I decided to go for broke and do them all. All the visibly or sufficiently different models that I could think of are listed here in this thread and will be included in my mod. Unfortunately, on the HD, these ships in this thread take up about 93MB on the HD. *chuckle*

fnvl and the tugs and any other ship w/o the forward tubes look like they have little magic sprinkles below the front of the saucer as they fly...

Looks like the ploys are gone, but the points are still there. I dont know if its worth fixing... because its damn awful hard to tell the difference between magic sprinkles and background space. In addition, you dont get much a chance to see the front of your ship. Thats one of the reasons I dont like this class that much... its ass end isnt as attractive as the miranda. Guess Ill have to texture on a couple pinup girls for the upper warp pylons... hehe.

You did a great job on these bashes, FS. wtg. I especially like the scout. it goes well with the gsc. I cant wait to use em in a GSA F&E match... hehe.

Hi Firesoul
Great work lets not forget the the New drone cruiser. I know people thought they were heavy photons but it looks visibly different from the other ships

Thanks Dizzy.

Found the problem. (unused polys on the photon tubes?) .. I cleaned up the problem on 5 models and updated the .zip files.
