Hey everyone or anyone who is still around;
I am about 3/4 done with this new mission I have scripted. Unlike the "Wrath of Khan" mission that comes with the game or patch, this mission will have four chapters (missions).
Does this mean there will be four .scr files?? No. It's all in one. When a player completes a chapter he / she will go to the next chapter by simply re-clicking the mission. In addition, the STII "Wrath of Khan" will also include sound clips taken from the movie that will play during the missions.
Here are the Chapter listings for the mission:
Chapter 1 "Kobayashi Maru" Chapter 2 "Reunion" Chapter 3 "Genesis" Chapter 4 "Wrath of Khan"
The mission is compatible with the standard 2552, OP+3.4, and Chris Jones TNG. Hopefully I will have the beta tested by 9.28.04 and released on my B-Day 9.30.04. |

Wowzers, new OP missions! You have made my day mate! Are you planning on making any more, perhaps a Repair Rendezvous? Can't wait to try out that mission!

Very cool CV.
Just curious, how is the chapter-mode implemented? Did you add a parameter to the sfc.ini?

Thanks KF!
Are you planning on making any more, perhaps a Repair Rendezvous? Yes, there will be more missions but I will announce them when the time comes.
Just curious, how is the chapter-mode implemented? Did you add a parameter to the sfc.ini? I had to create my own class (using C++ 6.0 ofcourse) that governs the mission (.scr) to switch to the next chapter when a victory condition is met.

I admit I was thinking about Repair Roundevous and the CUSTOM Monster mission: The Quantum Factor from SFC1 as well as the TNG missions you made. Always worth the wait to try out your new stuff! Did I mention how much I LOVE reading posts by CV? SFC:OP keeps getting better and better thanks to folks like CV. KF

Absolutley AWESOME set of missions CV, can't wait to see what's next!
Do you reckon a ST 6 pack is feasible, with the inital Ent-D7 incident, the Excelsior vs Klingon Battlecruisers in 'Flashback' and the final showdown - perhaps with scripted damage to ships until you launch a probe which forces the ship to decloak?
Just a thought.

Please don't leave us.... You just may be our only hope to get Repair Roundevous into SFC: OP...
Besides, aren't you making your TNG missions TOS/SFB/TMP friendly?
Thank you again for your maginificent scripts.

I do not plan on leaving "yet" as far as mission scripting goes. I was saying that this is the last TMP/SFB based mission I will be doing for OP. Currently, I am working on an extensive mission pack for Chris Jones UAW Mod which will include a reprise of some familar TNG OP Missions (From the W359 MOD) in addition to new missions.
When the time is right, I will announce the line up of TNG missions for the UAW Mod.
Thanks for the input
By the way, have you managed to "Win" the "No Win" Kobayashi Maru scenario?
Let me know.

RED ALERT: Mission Spoilers Score Card so Far: Chapter One: Kobyashi Maru. My XLUX is the Klingon Academy Altair Cruiselines ship: http://www.the-tcs.net/_hosted/atheorhaven/html/userfiles/ships/trek/sfc2/ka_liner_sfc2.zipIf the script used the STOCK D2 ship models the Kobyashi Maru should be the FFA Lotus Flower.... http://www.sub-odeon.com/stsstcsmua/other_govts/commercial_lotusflower.html I'm not complaining; for the number of civilians quoted being on board it actually makes sense to have the XLUX be the model. BTW: I use the TMP FASA Trek Chandley as my "Enterprise" and the FASA Trek D-10 Riskadh are the Klingons that show up in this scenario. How did I do? [MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL voices] "Run away" and saved the Enterprise from being destroyed. Chapter Two: Reunion. I'm using non-canon ships in my game, the TMP FASA Trek Loknar Refit USS Phobos is my USS Reliant. I had a lot of fun with it. I get to the "Times up" part and the Enterprise blew up when I was at range 2.52 I then CTD. The next time I played I stayed within range 5 and completed the mission. Chapter Three: Genesis. I'm stuck after the part you get out of sensor range of the Enterprise after having the away team sent to Regula One [I use Atrahasis' fixed version; thank you Atheorhaven] and the planetoid is one of SFC3's red/brown cratered moons. So that's where I am at the moment. I am having a blast! Thanks again CV! KF

Really great job! However I was wondering, will there be any revisions? If so, Could a planet appear after the Reliant explodes? In any case, I am really looking forward to any future releases that you might create. Thank You

Yes, the revision is already in the works. I am not going to elaborate much on whats all going to be in it but expect a "Bonus" mission if you complete Chapter 4 "Wrath of Khan".
Thanks for the input

Help I really need a hint!!
I am stuck in chapter 3 Genesis.
- I have transported my away team to the station after I had destroyed one shield. - I have sent in the infiltration team after the away team has dropped the shields and retrieved the away team.
But then whatever I seem to do when Enterprise arrives at the station I am always detected wherever I am, behind the planet or at the edge of the map. What am I missing?
Anyone can help me with this?
By the way great missions, much better so far than the one that came with the game.

You need to navigate your ship (Reliant) about range 5 from the asteroid thats behind the moon, a message will appear telling you that the Enterprise will no longer detect your presence. Remember, timing is everything.
Glad your enjoying the mission. The reprise will be out soon which will include additional chapters.

Does it work with FS's Opplus 4.0? If I run the .exe what is it messing with?

Dizzy, this script will overwrite the SFC Sounds file which will add the TWOK movie sound clips.. however it also overwrites some oof the *.txt files in the sound section.. as such, it may disrupt the ESG Loop Fix created by Firesoul... as such, If you install this script what I suggest is to either back up your Sounds folder before install and swap them out or use Strat's Mod Chooser v6.5. If you decide to use Mod Chooser I would suggest the OP Enhancement Package v3.0 which will be available very soon (like between tonight and Thurs) and after getting the OP Enhancement Package installed on a fresh install of SFC OP, then you can have the game in OP + mode and then install the Script.. go into the Specs folder and open the shiplist and add a . into the heading text then save the shiplist, then copy this list to your Meta Assets folder.. then launch Mod Chooser again and save the script as a separate Mod... Then I would revert your game back to OP + v4.0 then you can just add your Models and Specs for SGO4 into the game in the appropriate places (not scripts unless different from latest version of Karnak and NW and Tracey G.) and use Mod Chooser again and save it as a separate mod.. this way you keep the original sound files for everything except the TWOK Script which will use it's own and you have Taldren's Original, OP + v4.0 and SGO4 all in Mod Chooser along with the script and still have 1 mod slot still open for either SFBOP or UAW mods or a different Server Config if you so desire... anyhow.. I hope that this helps.. I also included more detailed instructions for use of Mod Chooser, especially if you are updating a Mod or Server and want to update Mod Chooser config to make swapping easy...

It's funny that you mentioned this. I just re-installed sfc op and played it a little for kicks. Fortunately I do have ST II as well as Fleet Pick on my PC. I am surprised there is still an interest in SFC after all these years but if someone out there is willing to host my missions I will gladly transfer them over. Contact me at "centauri_vm@hotmail", I am on tight schedule but I will reply to any request.
