The FPF is currently discussing our continued involvement in a league.

How many weeks is the next one slated to last?

I think that will depend on number of fleets we get and how many times we decided we should play each other to get to the play offs. As this is the ground floor of the new league I'd imagine we have a lot of decisions that need to be made including how long a cycle will last. I am sure everyones input will be taken into account and we will select our best options to keep this flame aglow.

According to my math, thats 8 fleets  ;D

So with enough fleets to make a cycle do we do this, or finish some sort of a playoff from the last cycle?

Start new cycle.
We should have finished the last one in GZ.

Payne suggests we could put up the schedule on his site, perhaps Payne should get in touch with KEL< or vice-versa

We should keep everything together on one site, no need to go chasing all over for info.  It should all be in 1 place.

GDA

KHH
9th
ISC
TCS
FPF
SOV

Not sure if we want to set a cut off date for teams to sing up. I really think we should run with a strong base of these eight for the initial cycle.

I recommended two divisions of 4. Have each fleet play the other three in their division twice (6 games total) and play each fleet in the other division once (4 games total) for a total of 10 matches for the cycle.

The top 2 teams (total of 4) of each division make the playoffs. Then the next top 2 teams of either division make the wild card spots. Division winners get bi week one of playoffs. Of the remaining four teams the top record plays the lowest qualifier and the middle two meet. For the division championships again the top fleet plays the lowest fleet advancing from the wild card matches. Then the championship match.

Sounds like a good schedule to me Mut, didn't do the math like you but I came to the same conclusion.

I did mention in the "other" thread about doing somethign like pbrleague.com as a site for all of us.  The offer still stands, but I beileve the ball is in Kels court.  He stood up for the leadership challenge, and whatever he wants is fine with me.

I see that Komodo and Nomad have been posting in my absence admirably, due to my work schedule. Thank you Gents. I'm looking forward to this new cycle and I'm hoping we have as much fun as the last time. <S> all.

Of these 8 fleets, please post what RACE you intend to fly for the upcoming Winter '04-'05 season.

I would like to get a good racial mix for both divisions.

GDA will fly Gorn.
