Do any of you guys know how to recover Powerpoint files (.ppt)?

If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful.

Is It just that one kind of File? Restore doesn't have It?

That's an Odd one, hopefully one of the others might know.

By any chance did you change the Powerpoint file that you have normally used to read It, or is the File just not found on your HD (S)

Actually, it was on someone's notebook and it crashed.  I was able to boot the thing from a floppy with a zip drive in DOS and transfer all the desired files out.  But I fear the HD crash might have had to do with the fact that it was NEVER defragged.  With all the errors and crosslinking and potential bad sectors, etc., I think a few files got corrupted, and they all happen to be MS Powerpoint presentations.

So, no, I never changed any of the files.  I'm just trying to fix 'em.

There used to be a kind of a "filefix" utility in the old DOS Norton Utilities suite, I think.  Unfortunately, I don't have that anymore, not that it would run on today's computers.
