Hey all, I'm brand new 'round here and was wondering if anyone could help me.
I have been looking for this game for like, forever.
I finally found a used copy of sfc3 at my local EB store and snatched that puppy off the shelf so quick I nearly knocked the shelf down.
Paid for it, and set a new land speed record going home, I was so excited.
Pop it in the drive only to discover that I need a cd-key # in order to install it, "Ok, no problem" right? Wrong!!
It seems the previous owner was a 13 year-old nipple-head and didn't include giving back the originalcd case it came in, and I have NO cd-key at all.
All that I got was the manual (which is in pristine condition, suprisingly) and the cd packed in a modern dvd case which I assume EB did in order to resell it.
Is there any way to obtain another cd-key or am I screwed and wasted my money?? ( I already called EB and of course they said "Sorry, but we do not guarenteeour used games will have vaild authentication keys" Oh, how nice, NOW you tell me.)
Any help would be apprieciated please, I am chomping at the bit to play this game.
P.S. If any "mistrusting types" think that I am not being on the up & up, I can prove I purchased this game, just ask me to quote any line anywhere in the manual, even something from the "Software license agreement". (which is on the very back pages #79 & #80 btw.)

Contact Activision Customer support and give out all relevant information as the number on the cd and box if it came with box.You might want to provide a UPC of the box as well. They don't provide much suppot as in the patches you can get that here in download section the 534_b or 531 it depends if you are going to playing any mods with it on Dyna3.Here are links. www.activision.comhttp://www.dynaverse.net/v2/downloads.php I hope this helps.

Thanks, I give that a try but, I was under the assumption that activision completely dropped all support for sfc3 because of the lawsuit.
However the worse thay can say is NO right?
Thanks again.

As I thought, got a response for Activision, basically "No, you're screwed" was their answer.
Anyone else got any suggestions, besides E-bay??
Thanks

Well, having exhausted all other avenues other than E-bay, (which I refuse to pay $70 - $80 for it) does anyone have a copy laying around that they would be willing to sell for a fair price??
Just PM me with the details.
Thanks

Someone should be able to let you use their CD key for installation. No its not completely legal, and you won't be able to register it, but since Activision doesn't support the game anymore anyway, then no harm done... My CD case with my CD Key was destroyed in a move, and my brother let me use his CD Key for installation. It works fine... Hope that helps! Sorry for your predictament.

Incorrect, 2 games using the same CD Key can not log on to the Dynaverse at the same time.. one person will always get the CD Key in Use error message.. you have to have a unique CD key in order to join the Dynaverse, those are only given by Activision, or on an unopened copy or a copy in the original jewel case. As such, no one in their right mind would even think about sharing their CD key if they plan to join a SFC 3 Dynaverse server.

Ah,....Sorry guys, I guess I should have updated this thread. Problem has been solved, Pestalence already helped me out. But thanks anyway Deathray68, and yes Pestalence is correct, while "borrowing" a cd-key from someone, would allow you to install the game, would restrict you to playing singleplayer. While that is fine for me, because that is all I do right now, someday I will have broadband out here in BFE, and will join in the online fray. Someday
