This past week was a bit rough at work.  I have 3 projects .. (hmmm  make that 4) ...

I have started 3 sets of textures (a primary skin or aztec) ..... and not satisfied just yet ( though we're getting closer)

I still have to go into work Monday for a few hours.  But maybe there is a chance I can make enough progress to get a WIP posted by Monday.

thanks

Hey Buzz, not to get off topic here, but Spartan pointed out a great idea from this pic posted on annother thread ............

Wouldn't this make a great asteroid starbase ?

Guys ..   I deeply appreciate the thooughts...  Really !

My load at my place of employment has really been something of a strain lately.  Three  (4 now) primary texture sheets  ... (the one I plan to use as a foundational sheet)  have been scrapped.   I'm just not satisfied with the results.  No doubt a lot of the struggle is comming from just being tired when I get home from work.   I really want to try a while longer to do this.

As for the Asteroid Base ..  I think it would be cool ... I'd LOVE to get my hands on one. But for my proposes I really did want something more "Trek" based.  And it seemed as though there really are not that many "Late TNG" Fed bases around.  Maybe in a few weeks I can do a Late TNG Klingon too !

F.W. this is no reflection on you in any way, shape, fashion, or form.  It's just something I want to do right now.  If I see that I cant .....   then I'll give ya the green light !

Also I have been learning a 3-D program.  Along with that I've been working on an update on a particular mesh.  It's very time consuming (particularly since I really dont know what I'm doing!).

If we're not ready for a couple of WIP picts by this Friday I may re-evaluate things at that point.

Please be patient.

thanks

Thanks guys ...  this is just the "primer coat" so to speak.  (And it's incomplete ) ...  No detailed stuff done yet.

I'm at home sick today ...  Need some rest.  I'll try to get more done this evening !

It's more than just the glows. It controls primary and heavy weapon hard points in SFC 3.

I've had to adapt many ships that were only for EAW or OP in order to play them in SFC 3.

We'll get the hard points done in due time.  I think Antivyrus can help with the light maps.  ( The windows will be the hardest part ) .  There will also be some lighting on both top and bottom of the saucer  ..  as well as a couple of other key places as well.  There are some weapons that are "hidden" away or "retractable" ...  ( such as photon and Q-torp launchers ) .. Since this base is not primarily used in an offensive posture I chose to keep them hidden on the model.  They are pretty much the same devices as those used on DS-9.  There will be places on top of the saucer that will indicate where they are "hidden away".

Thanks
