Won't Allow Me to Type in Authentication Code
« on: August 20, 2005, 06:59:44 pm »
Hi Folks,

Have had this copy of EAW for a couple of years and have finally tried to install it.  Am running XP on a 2.7GHz laptop, and everything works fine until I try to type in the Authentication Code.

IT WON'T ALLOW ME TO TYPE ANYTHING IN!!!    ???

Anyone willing to send me a PM with sage advice on how to fix my problem?

Thanks Ahead of Time!

Edit the shortcut to point to Starfleet2.exe and make sure the "Start in" folder is correct in the shortcut properties.

Or just use the windows key to minimise, then restore the window, you can then type it in - best to edit the shortcut though, avoids other problems too.

Thanks for the quick response!

I tried everything you suggested, and it still beeps at me.

I get the window requesting an Authorization Code, and when I try and type it in, it pings at me.

HEY IT WORKED!!!

Your initial suggestion on tweeking the shortcut didn't work, but when I minimized the window and opened it back up, it allowed me to put in my code.

THANKS!!!!!

also the shortcut must be change, there the sfc2.exe and the starfleet commande.exe, look into your sfc folder and chnage your shortcut and it will work.
