Base assaults and Skirmishes around planets

I know these missions are available in Multiplayer, but since I'm not an MP person, could I get SFC:OP versions of these?

They existed in SFC1... how hard is it to have them exist in SFCOP?

What you need to do is dl the mission packs from ed, karnack  and edit your mtc file so they are on it.  Start a new campaign and they should be there. where it has over 80 single player campaigns to choose from.. 40 storyline campaigns and 40 conquest campaigns including all scripts for Evil Dave, El Karnak and Tracey G. .. all of which are the latest version of each that I know of.. unless Tracey has released new versions since April.

Pesty, I updated the patrols again, the latest ones are being used on SG5.

Skirmish missions are not D2 campaign missions, they are GSA missions, but I get the impression 'skirmish' is referring to something else?

Single player, quick mission one-battle things selectable in the Single-player menu. What else did you think I meant? And what is GSA?

Basicly, it's the Starbase assault Single player mission from SFC 1. I miss these, since we're limited in OP to open space battles. I'd like something to do other than the sulu missions, WOK, and running out of a surrounded position. Base assaults were fun, and so were black hole missions.

So is there anything for quick-play missions? As fantastic as the campaign is, it gets tedious after a while when all the SP missions are done and your career never ends.

I have to agree with Norsehound. I really miss the SFC1 skirmishes. Selectable regions such as asteroid fields,wormholes,etc. and starbase assaults in quick skirmish mode I think were the most appealing part of the game.  Most satisfying to pound the enemy down and then switch to disabling phasers until he's sucked into a wormhole.
At the least, it would be nice to see a pack of hostile skirmishes with alternate regions
i.e. Hostile Skirmish-asteroid field,Hostile Skirmish-wormhole,etc.

Uhm...you can do all that in OP right now without DL'ing anything....

You can play games in the multi player section without being on line....you can set up anything you want...

Start game

Go to multi player

go to host (bottum right)

this will bring up a full list of skrimish missions that you can fight AI in...

when you get the set up screen...set players to AI

you can then pick their fleets just like skirmish mode...

the only difference

you cannot pause play in this mode...
