The two decades leading up to the Andromedan Defeat were a major time of political and social upheaval for the Alpha sector races.
None moreso than the Lyran Empire (it wouldn't start naming it's client states protectorates until after the last of the Concordat renegades had been hunted down) , Being directly involved in the Kzin Pacification, Klingon Intervention, and being involved directly in the events that would lead up to Starfleet's "Operation Extinction" , resulting of course in the sterilization of the Hydran worlds. It should be noted that
despite some claims by conspiracy theorists, it is unlikely the Lyran Navy was aware at the time of the Federation's plan to wipe out the Hydran race.  The Federation and Lyran Empires were still, offically in a state of war, even if Starfleet had ordered it's ships to avoid engagaing the Lyrans at all costs. And the Lyran navy at this point had begun concentrating it's assets to deal with the ever increasing number of Andromedan invaders, something no other Empire was in a position to do after years of war...

Ok since some have asked are there any plans to do servers for any other races.. here's the plan
** remember it's the plan, dunno if it will work, dunno if it's a good idea, dunno if anyone's interested**

Anyway
The series of servers will (hopefully) recreate the Lyran Empire's rise to dominance while trying to emulate the tru course of
what Federation revisionists have called "The General War"

It will (maybe) be a series of linked server- kinda like the GW series, with a twist (small twist)
1) Lyran v Kzin
2) Lyran v Kzin v Klingon v Hydran
3) Lyran v Kzin v Klingon v Hydran v Federation
4) Lyran v Kzin v Klingon v Hydran v Federation v Andromedan

The idea is that each server will incorporate the results of the server before it (barring any blowouts)
ie However the Lyran /Kzin map looks at the end of server 1, will be the way it's set up at the start of server 2
any points the Lyrans and Kzin have spent on specials (ie ship numbers etc) will carry through to the start of server 2
Any major ship losses in an earlier server will also be carried through the later servers.

Each server will also have specific victory conditions for every race. These may not all be in the best interest of your "allies"
