Hello,
I'm trying to make a ST:DS9-Dominion Wars patcher for all versions. You can use it for
1.Patching US 1.01 to 1.04.
2.Patching English 1.03 to 1.04, plus XP fix.
3.Patching German 1.03 to 1.04, plus XP fix.
4.Patching US 1.01 to 1.05, plus Metaloid's fix.
5.Install the 6 missions from 1.05 (optional).

I got an error message that says the old file was not found so no patch was installed. I will check to see what version my computer recognizes

The game crashes after launch. I can watch the intro, but it freezes after the video if over. Oh well, it looks like a cool game.

I need to know which version you have, there're at least 3 versions:
US version, v1.01
European English, v1.03
German, v1.03

Please also tell me your Windows version and video card,

For the video card, please run dxdiag and tell me the info in the display tab, device column.

It's odd you have errors during patching. When you install Dominion Wars, which option did you choose? You need to use "typical" not "compact" otherwise the patch won't work. This is the only possible reason for the "old file not found" error.

Your installation is possibly corrupt now. I'd recommend you reinstall Dominion Wars again. Please backup these files before patching:
ds9dw.exe, ds9blt.blt, ds9dat.blt, shipcapt.mis

Radeon X600 Pro 128 MB

I selected typical and the patch did not work even after I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and tried to patch it.

I've Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB and without any problems... really want to help you play it.

Can you run the game before patching? Any problems?
Don't forget to set Compatiability mode to Win98.

btw, which driver do you use? I'm using a very old version released in 2004.

Damn, it is already set to Win98 mode and it crashed when I tried to launch it without patching.

I don't think I was meant to play this game. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Could you tell me the filesize and last modified date of these files?
ds9dw.exe, ds9blt.blt, ds9dat.blt, shipcapt.mis

Though unlikely, but not impossible, you may have bought another different version of Dominion Wars...

Hi, could you check the size and date of "ds9dw.exe" again? I'm very sure you just gave me the info of "ds9dw.ico", which is made by me and installed from my patcher.
However, since you said you didn't run the patch, why do you have ds9dw.ico? It's very important that I need the info of a fresh installed Dominion Wars, please don't run any patch after the game installed.
From the rest of the files. Now I'm sure that you indeed have a different version. The US 1.01 Dominion Wars should have file dates last modified at June 7, 2001.

News:
