Remote access
« on: August 17, 2007, 07:37:34 am »
Last night I finally tried out a program I've been meaning to put on my desktop machine.  I DLed NTR connect, and was pleasantly surprised at how well I was able to control my desktop machine from my laptop over the internet.  Both are Mac OS X machines, but supposedly NTR Connect also works cross platform, so I should be able to run my windows machine from my mac desktop or vice versa as well.
Has anyone else tried a remote desktop program?  Any thoughts?
The desktop was a test, I hope to install this on my dad's and sister's computers so I can log in and help them with troubleshooting issues without driving all the way up to visit them.

But tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or fix this hole in a mother's son?
Can you heal the broken worlds within?
Can you strip away so we may start again?
Tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or cut this rope and let us run?
Just when all seems fine, and I'm pain free, you jab another pin,
Jab another pin in me

The only time I have used this was when I had a small network set up and remotely used my desktop from my laptop to access something not set for network sharing.
Only in America .....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
