Curlsman writes to let us know that the fan site startrek.com, operated for 13 years by CBS, is being shut down and its staff laid off. Is this site worth a write-in campaign? From the (perhaps final) post: "Goodbye from the STARTREK.COM Team. Sadly, we must report that CBS Interactive organization is being restructured, and the production team that brings you the STARTREK.COM site has been eliminated. Effective immediately. We don't know the ultimate fate of this site, which has served millions of Star Trek fans for the last thirteen years. If you have comments, please send them to editor @ startrek.com — we hope someone at CBS will read them."

If its true and C"larks B"utt  S"lime  trying to kill off startrek for good then its up to us fans to continue with it. I guess several hundred million $ wasn't enough for their investors.  :smackhead:   Ive never seen a corporation that was "good" for the general public!

I bet that the feds will ban any anti-liberal talk next. Then the US will start to collapse into a full-scale civil war that will leave us a broken nation. Then World War 3 would spark off with the invasion of Iran by Israel, so on, so forth ( yes I know I'm being a pesimist).

I just ran into this thread, and it's a sad sight for Star Trek. I really hate CBS now... recently, they've been taking all of the ST:TNG episodes off of Youtube. For many of us who missed the shows as they came out and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for each DVD set, Youtube is the only source of TNG fun.

I think Spike TV still shows them if you have cable or satelite.

SciFi Channel shows Trek on Monday nights.  last week had the Klingon Civl war among other episodes.
