Anybody want a fiber optic ethernet card?
« on: June 13, 2008, 12:09:18 pm »
I so got screwed on this...and didn't even get a good kiss first...
I have an XP64 OS and my ethernet card took a dump on me and after several attempts to get it working, bought another card, only to discover the drivers wouldn't load because it was for 32 bit systems only... >:(
Then searched online and found only a couple 64 bit cards, ordered a D-Link 550SX because it was listed as 64 bit.
It wasn't until after it arrived that I realized the connection was actually for fiber optic cables, not the standard CAT 5 cable (MTRJ connector not RJ45)
This was my own fault I guess, but, being less than technical when it comes to these things, I simply didn't know the difference at the time.
To make matters worse, I cannot return it, only exchange it if it's defective, which I assume it's not since it was never even attempted to be installed.
So...I'm out 150 bucks and I STILL don't have the right card.
So...I offer to sell the card for 50% of cost to anyone who can use it.
While the seal is broken, it's obviously brand new and still in the box.
If you are interested, please PM me.
Detailed specs on the card are here:

Hoping someone can take it off my hands...
