I've also tried to correlate ship types and races to car types and brands.  For example, I'm currently driving a 1992 Chevy Lumina APV minivan which I'd like to think in game would be an F-CVL. 

...I've got brand matches for each race if anyone's curious...

Klingon = Japanese brands

Hydran = British brands

Romulan = Chrysler Corp.

Federation = GM

ISC = German brands

Lyran = Hyundai

Mirak = Kia

You know you've been watching TNG too much when you refer to the Honda Acty Van / Bedford Rascal / etc. as a "Type 2 Shuttle Craft".

Actually, at a Sci-Fi bash at the loacl university, when I was a mature student, someone actually converted a Honda Acty Van into a road going replica of a TNG Type 2 Shuttle Craft.

This was back in the mid-1990's.

<that> I'd like to see!  I saw a much more lame attempt at a Burger King in Holland, MI.  It was a late 80's Ford Tempo painted light gray with decals from the TOS shuttlecraft Galileo on it.

You know you've been playing to much SFC when you exclaim, "Firing aft torpedo!!" when taking a dump....  ::)

Rommie players may vary this to, "Dropping NSM!!" as the consequent effects are similar.
