Ok we all know SFC1 and SFC2 EAW support 32bit textures, so I wanted to replace the ugly textures in both SFC1 and SFC2 you see in space where this is obvious lines between color changes ect, where are these stored and do they have to be resaved in .pcx if so what program can work with .pcx and does .pcx support 32bit color?

the textures for SFC2 and OP are in models/space folder and are not pcx they are bmp and only 8 bit if you increase only the colors to 32 bit they will still look the same, this needs much mor workaround to make them look better.

Nope actually they can not support that high in colour SFC 3 can, not 1 and 2. You can still replace the textures with better ones but you still will not get the full vision because of the engine. by the way the larger the textures and resolution the more lag they will introduce to the game. This whole topic was discussed in the modelling froum both here and a DRC.

about PCX files:
The PCX file format can support 24-bit color, either as a palette of up to 256 colors or as full, 24-bit RGB, with image sizes of 64k x 64k pixels.

There is a space background package available that does improve the looks though, just done remember who released it
