BACKGROUND:
In module R12, ADB decided to flesh out the Battle Frigates. For the Klingons, that meant SSDs for the F6B Drone Frigate (no shock, 4 drones), the F6E Escort, F6S Scout, F6J Penal (not going to add to OP+) and F6T Transport.

.. the F6 is a F5 with a 3rd warp. Since the F5 in OP+ 4.0 has only 1 rear engine (like a Bird of Prey), this wasn't going to work at all. I decided to adopt a new base F5: Atrahasis's Valkrys. The Valkrys looks a lot more like the F5 SSDs and could easily support more warps attached to its hull.
Note: the RK5R will be a Romulan colour of the Klingon F5.

Yes. All I did was added a 3rd engine to the F5. It's not much, but it makes me happier, and I do like to release my models.

ROMULAN KFR

I already had done the work, 5-6 years ago, to have Romulan colours for the Valkrys. I simply applied the textures and thus now have a model for the KFR.

Here's a Korgath (Klingon pirates) retexture of the F5. These textures should (will?) work on the F6 model if you copied them over.

Korgath E5 Battle Escort

The E5 was a prototype design built from what was available: F5 boom, D5 engine, and an E4-like hull.
(in other words, cut off the wings, make the engine bigger, and a few mesh and texture fixes and we're done!)

OH...Snap!!

That is way kool........Now if I can see what an FDW looks like.....I like the SSD but it don't look like a D5..

FDW? Fed War Destroyer? I'm trying to figure out what ship you're mentioning and there's multiple possibilities.

Oh Sorry.....Firesoul, damn I keep forgetting you guys see so many ships......my bad..

The Klingon FDW (new fast cruiser) dated 2275, in the heavy cruiser section of the vessel library, about 8 ships behind the C7...
I think its part of the (new) line of D5s that came out in later editions....but the schematic looks so different than the standard D5.
That's why I guessing that maybe...just maybe someone might have created a model just for it...

Ah.. Sorry to disapoint, but the FDW isn't all that different than the D5W:
1- make the warps run hotter, providing more warp power.. They don't last as long, by far... and isn't all that valuable economically.
2- replace 2 disruptors by Phaser-1s.

That's it. No spade shape saucer, nothing special otherwise. ;>

Then why is the library view schematic so different than the other D5's? it kinda sorta looks like a bird of prey if you squint a little

Don't depend on the UI used! I probably ran out of phaser slots with the D5W, and thus for the FDW I had to pick one that didn't match. It's either that or have a ship where you can't easily select your weapons! :>

I've never been happy about using the SFB F5 frigate model as the DW, as it is clearly a drastic rebuild of the F5 frigate. Even the warp engines are 1 box more in power.

The F5 Korgath is exactly what the DW should look like so that what we're now using here for our SFC 1 LAN battles from now onwards.

I had to convert it to run in SFC 1 which took a lot of hours, but it was worth it.
