I went with Contact as I enjoyed both the book and the film so much. I had wondered how good could a film version be after such a tremendous novel and they did it. That being said, I own a copy of The arrival as well but it's not a match for Contact.

Contact, no question. Great movie, great adaptation of a great book. One of the few actual science fiction films to come out in the past 10 15 years. (Man, time flies sometimes)

I want to vote for Contact. I respect Sagan immensely. I admire his bravery.  I loved the book. But I can't vote because I don't think I have actually seen The Arrival!  ;D

Arrival my vote. Contact was good and well thought out but parts of the movie is just boring.
Time for life!
