The Romans are supposed to have tied brush to the horns on a herd of cattle, set fire to it and during the night stampeded them through a barbarian army encampment.  In the panic of the "demonic" attack the Romans had a cake walk destroying the army.  I suspect they had a large Texas style barbecue afterwards (even though Texas wasn't invented yet).
