2015 -How are things coming along?
« on: January 14, 2015, 11:54:07 pm »
Hey guys, I'm kind of new to these forums, but I've followed the SFC 4 project off and on for a few years. I am curious if there is any information available to update the public.

SFC 4, is evolving to be less effort to get it released.  I am striving to finish in 2015, and decided to put the project on kickstarter as I may need to purchase models.

The idea is to fit this one into the trek universe and with modding allow it to expand.

(Luke 14:28-30) "For example, who of you wanting to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense to see if he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, he might lay its foundation but not be able to finish it, and all the onlookers would start to ridicule him, saying: ‘This man started to build but was not able to finish.'

The 3D models use to be readily available, now they are not.  So rather than scrap I decided to try and find a way to get them.

Hi all, happy to see some people still working on this project
I have 2 questions/concerns.
1) Is there a strong chance that we have something ready within 2015
2) Has the community maintained a descent player base so the game in its re-shaped, updated version has any future?

Interesting seeing this come along.  Where do you place this project?  How close to alpha testing?

Need any help with testing or performance analysis?  I've been a professional software (web) developer since 1998 and have a good bit of alpha testing of products (I developed online training for several products - thus I was typically the first to see a working model).  Starting last year I have been working in testing and analysis for an AEGIS combat simulator.

Singleplayer? Yes.

Multiplayer? Probably no. Only Moog, Spider, and I were playing OP competitively this winter. Nobody regularly plays CE or EAW online.

To get the Multiplayer part of the game going, we could schedule dates and times to get together.  But you probably already thought of that.

I'd also have to re install the game and updates.  I think my OP disk is bad too, still have the registration number though.

OK first we could start using a skype group where we can for starters help each other setup the game and try some IP games.
I ll create a separate topic later where we can share skype accounts and add you all to the skype chat group.
Additionally you may message me your skype IDs to add you to my contacts
