WTF!!!

I haven't even played a game online in like <insert teenage girl voice> forever <end voice> due to the amount of slacking going on in the game developer universe.   I'm innocent, as always.    Hell all I have done for the last few years is . . .  lets see . . .

1.   Suggest JJ Abrams take over the Star Trek stuff.
2.   Suggest that he make the movies all about explosions and lame tongue in cheek jokes about prior Star Trek stuff.
3.    Throw the entire canon out the window with a  . . .  wait for it . . .   yes a super lame time travel reboot.
4.    Plot holes?    I love'em!!!     (Actually if you love plot holes there is a Star Wars movie out that I can suggest)
5.    Character development, what's that?  Who needs it.   More 'splosions please.
6.  Oh yes,  and I watched KOTH FLuf go slowly insane on Eve.  Sold that idea to Malcolm Gladwell.   Just wait for his next book . . .    "Herding Cats to Madness"

Yes, Star Trek for the A.D.D. Crowd.  It was my idea.    Made some coin with it too.

But really, bastard?    I am a saint.   Okay, a prince.   erm . . .  a Mensch maybe?

Hey I am not that bad!   Sheesh.

Where tha <censored> is my game?   I got stress here.

Sorry J'inn for you to not be a bastard this would need to be the mirror verse.  Since Stephen is still the good Stephen you can't be the (hypothetical) good J'inn who didn't become a Lawyer.  So J'inn = Bastard! for this reality.

Ahh Fluf, he did go a little batsh*t crazy back in 09....

I like to think our small band of misfits helped drive him to insanity. However I know there was so so much more.

I also went a bit insane myself with Eve. Ran a damn alliance, with outposts and renter alliances and supers...

O and you must always remember your roots.

How was/is Eve?   I remember not liking it when I tried it out 10+ years ago but that's because the combat couldn't hold up after playing SFC.

Every once in a while I see stories like the below and wonder what it'd be like to be involved in a this big of a conflict.

http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/31/11334014/eve-online-war

The one this I liked about SFC over every other online game I've played is it didn't have much of a "how do you kill that which has no life?" factor.   There's not "Sword of 1000 Truths" in SFC, all the ships are stock and your skill as a player was paramount.

Eve was fun if you were with the right guys.   Playing it alone or with people you didn't like would make it horrible.    Much more so than with SFC.     It was also overly consuming and demanding as far as time.   There were things that you just HAD to log on at a certain time for.     That was a problem.

Also, I cannot explain fully how detailed, complex and just deep it could get . . .    and this, while sounding cool, was not.    It lead to people becoming overly involved.  Overly stressed . . . and just plain nuts.

I miss it.   Would probably play again if Kroma, Weasel and Sears et al. would . . .   Assuming Kroma would f'ing return my phone calls.   bastard.

But I think i would rather start a new game with you guys.

Yea I'm kinda in the same mindset you are J'inn. Played a bit of Destiny, with some close friends. Then did Rainbow six for a bit. The rest of them went on to Division. I saw it as a another version of Destiny and I was already over that.

STO just never really did much for me. I've just been playing games like Civ V and Gal civ II and III and other single player stuff mostly.

Onlinewise I dabble in GTA V and Guns of Icarus online. GIO is a GREAT game if you can get a good group of people together, alas it's a moderate size playerbase and it is a little limited in play types. However the devs are very active and constantly doing stuff to the game so there's that.

In all honestly, I think ti was the stress of dealing with the 500 or so players on his team.    Imagine 500 geeks all being without the social filter of face to face conversation and most with the maturity of a 10 year old after drinking a triple espresso.     It was death by douche.

It also probably didn't help that he spent a lot of his time refueling the ungodly amount of towers and jump bridges he threw up all over the place.   And of course there were the warp interdiction bubbles, I think we all went a little mad staring at those damn things.

Btw J'inn how rich did you become by the time you stopped playing?

I honestly don't know.    Billions easy.   I remember building and selling Titans.    Heck, I funded the building of an entire station just so I could have it called Riverboat Casino LOL.    A little horrified to see that Titan's had a real world value of $6,000.00!!!    I never thought about selling the ISK for Money.  I am a little ill now.

Of course I got rich the old fashioned way . . .  pyramid scheme.   :smitten:

Yeah the J'inn fund was a great idea.  I probably could've financed a titan back in the day seeing as I pretty much financed Shiva's Hulk BPO.  Was I your biggest investor in the beginning?  I think I threw $50 billion your way iirc.

I think so.   I can't believe so much time has gone by.     I think I am the only pyramid scheme in history that actually paid everyone back.   LOL.

Yeah, sometimes I think about going back but I don't think anyone I know even plays anymore so I don't bother.

So if a bastard falls in the forest, is its name still J'inn?

I know, I know, I'm raising the dead on this one. But I couldn't resist.

Is there ever a question where the word "bastard" and the name "J'inn" aren't inextricably linked?

He's a bastard forever. Always.
