Rules
« on: June 24, 2004, 12:04:06 pm »
1. Dynaverse.net has the right to remove any message it deems objectionable or that is not in Dynaverse.net's best interest.
These are our boards and we have a responsibility to our visitors.
Your understanding is appreciated.

2. Messages should always maintain a respectful, civil tone towards one another. Name-calling,
personal attacks, baiting of others, and abuse is not allowed.

3. Post on topic.

4. Impersonating a staff member (or anyone else, for that matter) is strictly forbidden. We'll be harsh
on this; identity theft is a serious thing even if it's meant in jest.

5. No "spamming." "Spamming" is the term used to describe posting the same message or
substantially the same message in several places at the same time.

6. No vulgarity or obscenity. If you wouldn't say it to a five year old or in a job interview, don't say it here.

7. Racial or ethnic slurs, or offensive imagery (including but not limited to nudity, excessive violence,
or offensive symbols) will absolutely not be tolerated and will be deleted from the forum.

8. No advertisements. Feel free to share personal accomplishments, however, people come
here to converse, not to wade through product endorsements.  Along with no advertisements,
no money or fund raising is permitted on this site.

9. Board participants are welcome to discuss a myriad of subjects: differing ideologies, product
comparisons, etc. Dynaverse.net (as a entity) will not endorse any one opinion over another. Any
endorsement by an Administrator, Dynaverse.net employee, or Representative is not intended to assert
company views.

10. There will be no group/team accounts allowed.  Multiple accounts are not permitted without advance permission from the Forum Administrators.

11. Private messages are not to be posted in this or other forums or web sites without advanced permission from the sender of the PM.

12. Two wrongs do not make a right.  If you have been subject to a rules violation report it to a moderator or an administrator.  Do not violate rules yourself to make your point, avenge the violation, or express your dissatisfaction.

Privileges to the forums are at Dynaverse.net?s discretion. Disruptive behavior will result in a user's participation in the forum being suspended or lost.

First offense, if minor, will result in a warning.

Additional offensives will result in banning for no less than a week and possibly permanently, depending on the severity of the offense.

After the set times for suspension are up the user may petition the admins
for un-banning via an email to admin@dynaverse.net.

Attempts by a banned user to return to the forum under another alias will be met with immediate suspension of the new alias.

Cue,

These are exactly Taldren's old rules.

Good, but ...

I can sneaze and get banned, as you know.

The banning rule is unclear ... Too much open ended, IMHO.

===========

First offense, if minor, will result in a warning.

Additional offensives will result in banning for no less than a week and possibly permanently, depending on the severity of the offense.

===========

May I ask the admin team here to consider a warning system -- say 1 though 5?

The Taldren rules went from ZERO to 60, bing, bang -- boom!

Heck, I could get banned for even asking this, as it may be seen as a challenge to the authority here.

Just asking. Please consider it.

Thank you.

Baiting us is in violation of rule number 2, WaterTiger.

I am tired of these battles, WT.  I am not going to warn you any more.  Next time there is a rules violation you will be banned for a week.  If there are any further rules violations there will be a more substantial ban.

The dramatics of continuing this debate has exhausted my patience.  I have more things to do in my life than to continue this.  So stop.  Or don't ... either way, now you know I will act next time.

When you come to someone's house, be polite and follow their rules.

You would deserve and expect the same.

There are plenty of free boards on the net where you can say whatever, if folks want that, they should go post on them.

But this is the Dyno house, they have the right to have whatever rules they like, if the rules are no good, posters show it by leaving.

Hey Guys,

Why would I want to know who's Moderating the Boards and working as an Admin on a site that's up for the Community that I'm in.

Why would I want to commence a "Karma Plunging Campaign"?

I honestly have better things to do with my time.

Well, it would be nice to see broader representation of the Community as a whole, but so far the site looks good.

I'm sure there are enough other Admins and Moderators to keep Senator "Pestalence" McCarthy from going on another legal campaign. ;)

And also, it would be unfair of me to judge the guy over one particular action, despite the grief and damage it caused the Community.

Excuse me?  I believe the members of this group cover the whole spectrum of SFC, going all the way back to SFC1.  Just who else would "need" to be in this group?

I'm the last person in the world to comment on rules, but WaterTiger's got a point.  I don't know what went on in the D3 forums, but it seems the reaction to his question was a little harsh.

Although, it seems to me that if you think you may have said something that can get you banned, go back and edit it real quick and hope like hell no one saw it ;D or hunt down a mod and ask questions.  One warning seems fair, but ambiguity about it doesn't.

BTW, love what y'all've done with the place ;D
I was never here, you were never here, this conversation never took place, and you most certainly did not see me.

WT has been banned....a long time ago...

The banning rule is just fine....you get (private) warnings...then a couple one week time outs...before a perminate ban...

Some infractions require immediate banning...some dont...

As soon as you draw a line....people will dance on one side of it...

But no one has been banned who didnt obviously deserve it based upon their own REPEATED actions...including WT.
