Missile Rack and AI
« on: August 06, 2005, 07:07:12 pm »
I saw something interesting while playing trace patrol on aotk2.

None of the ai's ever fire missiles.

No one, not my ai mirak wingman or my klink ai opponent (in a D6D to be sure) ever fired a shot from their missle racks.

I have see a Z-DF+ fire Mirv shots, but that's about it.

Is this a scripting error? or intentional?

I have seen AI fire missiles from the D6D and the MDC as well.  The only noticable difference though is that they have fired usually from a range of 2 or less, and never from a distance.  This has happened with ai vs ai and ai vs me in missions.  If the ships do not go close range, they dont seem to fire their drones.  Next time or 5 you see ai with drones vs you, try not firing and flying really close at slow speeds to see if they do.

Something ain't right, not quite sure.   I've reported the bug to TG.

Sorry, I meant 2270. It was the year St-2's and MIRVs came out.

Still haven't seen a single missile shot from my klingon enemies. the closest thing is the D7C (ai of course) dropping an SP on me.

even is I get upclose at slow speed I don't receive any missile shots. In fact the racks loading progress seems to be stuck at 50% and not moving. (I am close enough to see his phaser and disruptor reload progess moving, but not missiles)

Will run some test missions across different scenarios (different fronts, different BPV ranges/ ship classes, maneuvers as suggested above... etc) and report back ASAP.

Had a 2v2 (1 AI each) I was klink/rom enemy player Both Mirak.
I captured the AI MEC and the drone racks seemed frozen at half charge.  The ship would not fire them no matter what I tried.

if you're talking about the battle with me, yeah i was right at an optimal rage to be hit by the drones too and it never fired. I think i recall it firing once while still on my side, but i could be wrong

i think it means it built a scatter pack of slow drones from a stash of drones that wasnt there in the first place.
