Topic: lost on setting up dynaverse (Read 2073 times)

I have no idea on how to set up for dynaverse. I've read how to do it but I don't know how to change ports how to modify and so one .Is there somebody that I could call and walk me through the process.I have a new Dell and am using cable connection.I'm dying to play. Please help my friends. Tom Sawyer  |

First you need to post what router you are using, or if you are plugged directly into the cable modem...

I have a scientific atlanta ITE E 188325 I dont know if it is a router or modem. the cable guy hooked it up when he installed my connection. my Computer is a dell 9100 .

I have a scientific atlanta ITE E 188325 I dont know if it is a router or modem. the cable guy hooked it up when he installed my connection. my Computer is a dell 9100 .
do you have any other computers on your same connection? Do you have two boxes... one with the coalax cable connected, which then leads to the second box via an ethernet (sorta like a mutant phone cable... its a little bigger, but same type of connection on the end)? Or just one box, with the coalax running into it, and then your computer hooked up to that box? |

Turn off all firewalls (windows firewall, zonealarm, norton, mcaffee, etc). Can you log into the router? try typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into your browser and pressing enter. Tell me if you can connect to it. |

Skyflyer thanks for helping out . I cant believe the last question I asked, I feel real stupid. I took a closer look at the read me.It suddenly all made sense. I just gotta due a couple mods and I'm play en. Thanks again , I'll see you in battle. TomSawyer

Tom Sawyer actually another thing you need to do if you time out on the directhost test thing is you need to find your outside IP address the easiest way is to google: "whats my ip address" and click on the first link and copy that IP down Next you need to open your activision folder in program files and go to the SFC3 Configuration file and open it There will be tabs in it with [ example ] around it, look for the one that says [META] At the end of the list add IPAddress=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-------- your IP address and that will help on the time outs |
