Firefox 2.x was great, very stable and an incredible layout heads and tails above IE 7.0...
Firefox 3.x crashes every 3 minutes and adds lots of extra 'features' that do nothing but make things more frustrating...
(written with IE 6.0)

You can still go back to Firefox 2, I think.Last I checked, it was still available for download. (Tried Firefox 3 myself, couldn't stand it, went back to 2)

I have noticed that I can't stream my radio stations through FF 3. But other than that FF 3 seems stable enough for my purposes. I just open IE 7 for the Radio Streams.

FF3.0.x works perfectly for me. It is a considerable improvement over 2.0.x in memory usage. I suspect you are experiencing an update (old settings) and/or add-in/extensions issue. My reccomended procedure to update: - Download new version Firefox (full installer) http://www.mozilla.com- Export bookmarks - Uninstall all extensions/add-ins - Exit and restart Firefox - Exit Firefox - Uninstall Firefox from the control panel add/remove programs - Delete the Firefox installation folder: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox - Delete the Mozilla Profiles folder: C:\Documents and Settings\***YOUR LOGIN HERE***\Application Data\Mozilla (also check other users logins and the All Users profile) (caution: may remove netscape profiles as well) - Install New Version of Firefox - Start Firefox - Import bookmarks - Reset preferences (download location prompt in my case) - Download and install extensions. ( Noscript for me...) - Exit and restart Firefox They key part is to ditch the old extensions and addins and delete the profiles folder.

I haven't noticed any issue with Firefox 3 on Windows and I used it solidly all day Monday due to " issues" with my Linux machine. Since then I upgraded my LinuxMint from V4 to V5, Firefox was upgraded at the same time and has been crashing every few hours. I have a tentative guess of the cause, one that has been an issue before - Adobe Flash. I'm trying some experiments with blocking flash to see if it becomes stable again. The Windows machine does not have flash installed and is stable whereas the Linux machine reverses both of those. I'll let you know what (if anything) I find that works for me.

This is just the chance for Netscape to shine again. Does anyone still use Navigator or 7.1?
