« on: April 26, 2004, 10:36:29 am »
Just so i can get them off my back.
I have them RARing up as i speak.

None of them are hardpointed or Breaked except for the Pleiades. Im too lazy, and if i bother they are never going to be released.
As soon as i can upload it, then its all yours.

Okay, simple work-around:  copy the .bmp fcl5 from McKinnley 2+ into the McKinnley and McKinnley2 folders...

Once again, AWESOME work, man.

I noticed that as well but that is not really that big of a problem as you found out. I actually think you can dump all the files into one big one and make it work, you will only have registries but at least it will all be in one place. Actually two files as the carrier versions will need a seperate one.

The models came out well, you had been very busy, and I think I will fix up the textures on the ones I like (like all the colours to match) and the light maps as well. I will also hard point those, that I fix the teztures on, once I get a chance to really look them over more closily. Once I finish them I will check with you before I set them up for download at Mackies site, probably will not be to soon either. I will also do registries for the ones I release with the ship class as a name.

At anyways congrates on finally getting all those ships out!

No, it's a pretty simple fix, I was even able to "kitbash" a couple new variants just by swapping between the various available texture.bmps from the other ships.  Glad to hear you're going to work your special brand of texture magic on these great models!  So many cool variants, I had to create a whole Sub-Federation race just to fit them in...

They are just awesome!

I changed the textures on the BCV Excelsior;s shuttlebays to something brighter and also brightened the illumination... Kinda like the Miranda shuttlebays. Looks stellar!

Very sweet stuff. The Jupiter is one mean mofo... hehe. You have TOS generation model out there for the BB, TMP version, amd then the X-era version (Excelsior Jupiter) which all retain the same basic shape and design. I love it!

I am just going to do a few I can do HPs and Dps for them and fix up the textures for them to be more towards that later era of TMP. It is more of Time available that I have to do this then the amount of work it actually is. One set of HPs and Dps will cover allot of ships, and then only a few sections will need them to cover the rest. So don't worry i am sure some one will finish the ones I don't, and the textures should work for the others as I will make them more generic. Registries will only be for the saucers and I can always do more like I did for the registry packs I made at TCS, then only have to be cut and pasted in to make it work.

So the only part I hate about Registries is not doing them it is looking for the Name and numbers to make them.

Okay folks...I have burned the entire collection uncompressed onto two cd's and am in the process of zipping the individual ships into seperate archives...If anybody wants to host the individual zip or rar files let me know. The process should be completed by the end of the week and the whole kit and kaboodle will then be burned to cd for safe keeping.

Made this one today

Its a Commendant2V refiited to serve as a Generational Ship...

The Carrier Bays in the saucer have been converted to recreation facilities.

Two pods have been added to the lower hull, these contain living areas in the Upper Front 1/4, Resource production (Farms - as you can tell with the windows - machine shops, even a small factory) in the Upper Aft 1/4, and then storage and misc in the Lower Half.

Two Runabout Pads have been added to above where the carrier bays have been...These use Flyer-Class Gunboats or Danube class Runabouts.

Now this is what Voyager should have been!

What do you think?

Showing off the "Farms"

There is no actual indent on the pod where the farm is, the effect was achieved using textures - a well placed shadow, i think.
But its not perfect...a little help would be nice.

Your Welcome

Now about that sacure window...

I would take this texture and apply your shaded winow over it at probably 35% transpereance (more or less depending on the look) and then apply a new layer over that to darken the winow boarders and cross peices.

do you want this one?

the other is more of an idea still.

Because you are on a top surface you will want to make a window for the top area and then make it appear that you are looking down through it at the farm/park below. Not an easy task but should be doable. you will have to be careful on the side framing to make it appear from side that you are looking at the opposite edge.

IN OTHER NEWS
Just so you people have an updated list
I made the following

F-McKinnleyC
F-McKinnleyCV
F-Commendant2V (this was done jsut by copying the Commendant2 and replacing the textures with the Excelsior2V)

And of course the Commendant2G (Galactic/Generational) is still a WIP

Better yet, GAFY, can i get a blank (meaning no Registries) of each of the 3 Textures.

-The Excel
-The Excel2
-The Excel2V

Should be 6 textures total

Im gonna have to learn to do this whole Registry thing soon enough anyways, might as well start now. This way i can attack a few registries myself.

Actually only the bottom changes so it works out to about 3 textures
4 if you don't want to cut and paste anything

You would have the Excel (top + bottom), Ent B (bottom Hanger + Engine). I will put the blanks in and you can finish things off.

Well I decided to get lazy again!

So I only blanked this version of the textures, you can copy and paste to the rest and have the blanks you wanted.

This is more or less what I was talking about although the pods park windows could use more work but I think it is enough for the point. So now you have a ship more or less complete, that you can modify to make it work for you.

 Download!

Have fun with it.

Not A Problem,

I get to play with models, just like when I was a kid, every time one comes to these forums. It has always been fun to do so.

I did notice one problem though...
The struts for the sensor dome are directly in the path of the impulse engine. You have a few things you could do to fix it though. The first is to move it to the saucer, not the prettiest place for it but it works. Two is to move the struts to the outside and angle them inward, the hardest to do but possiblily the prettiest. The third is almost as easy as moving it, but will look the worse, just use one vertical strut to support the dome.

Here is something else for you Fury_of_a_Seraph,
I got home tonight and put one of them in game for a look, and noticed something. The Pods and Pylons in some cases did not look very Excelsior in style. So I correct the backgrounds and made some small changes. They are not complete yet, but are a good start for the most part and usuable as is. I was not planning on going any farther on them but you might want to, so I made them available for download.

 New Textures

Now I just have to correct all the light maps and add DPs and HPs and I will have my little Excelsior Fleet. Once I get the ones I was planning on finished I will send them back to you and you can upload them to your site. If you have max you should be able to carry the HP and DP points from these to the others so that you can release them complete.

Well got some more work done!

I have the textures finished and blanked, and have added names to 3 of them. I also have temporary DPs and HPs on three of them as well, need to tweak them a bit and those will be done using the Destroyer UI. I will put a UI HP map in them as I started to do with my other releases.

The Three vessels so far near done are the three destroyer sized ones I liked the best.

Ajax Class:
U.S.S. Ajax NCC-2153, U.S.S. Pulsar NCC-2162

Ajax+ Class:
U.S.S. Bounty NCC-24030, U.S.S. Venturer NCC-24551

Ajax 2V Class:
U.S.S Altair NCC-21014

The above need break models and they are complete. Do you know anyone that can do those for you? I can send them to them or a E-mail for were to download them from me, so they can be completed and set up for Download at your site.

The others I am doing are the following:
Excelsior+
Hawkeye
Hercules
Hercules+
Icarus
Jupiter
Leavenworth
Leavenworth+
Sparta
Sparta2H

These ones still have the blanks on them and are awaiting me to put registries on them. They also need the HP and DP placement as well as break models. Most of these will also contain 2 registries per file as well.

Again you will have to do the break models yourself, or find some one

Forgot to mention this part!

Well was doing some work to help Fury of a Sep get his Excelsior fleet out and decided to make a new texture for the warp engines. Think it was time for a new look as the current ones are starting to show there age, and it looked older than mine.

So what do you thinkl of this look, it is still a WIP as I need to add more to the center and front areas.

Here is the final version I am including in the zips once I get the hard points done on them.

Well here is the finished version for the Sparta series of ships. I, of coarse, went for the more more comples version of the texture just to make one. I left the simple black one in the sparta file just so there was a choice.

Got even more work done!

The SEVEN vessels done so far are listed below

Ajax Class:
U.S.S. Ajax NCC-2153, U.S.S. Pulsar NCC-2162

Ajax+ Class:
U.S.S. Bounty NCC-24030, U.S.S. Venturer NCC-24551

Ajax 2V Class:
U.S.S Altair NCC-21014

Hawkeye Class:
U.S.S. Hawkeye NCC-1908, U.S.S. Hyperion NCC-1904

Icarus Class:
U.S.S. Icarus NCC-57283, U.S.S. Rutledge NCC-57295

*Sparta Class:
U.S.S. Titan NCC-65110, U.S.S. Sparta NCC-65099

*Sparta2H Class:
U.S.S. Tenacious NCC-65607, U.S.S. Reilient NCC-65899

(*shows just finished)

The above need break models and they are complete. Do you know anyone that can do those for you? I can send them to them or a E-mail for were to download them from me, so they can be completed and set up for Download at your site.

The others I am doing are the following:
Excelsior+
Hercules
Hercules+
Jupiter [Will not be able to Hardpoint, Milkshape will not open (to many ploies)]
Leavenworth
Leavenworth+

These ones still have the blanks on them and are awaiting me to put registries on them. They also need the HP and DP placement as well as break models. Most of these will also contain 2 registries per file as well.

So now all I have to do is get the SEVEN! ships to you so you can break model them and then upload them to your site.

The following have got the Hard & Damage Points done now all I have to do is the registries and upload them.
Excelsior+
Hercules

**Removed from list Jupiter**
Leavenworth
Leavenworth+

So now all I have to do is get the ships to you so you can break model them and then upload them to your site. Have you contacted the person who said they would do your break models yet?

The Hard and Damage points can be copied to other vessels pretty easily as well so this should get you on your way FOAS to that Excelsior fleet goal.

Well finished up the Hard and Damage points on the rest and only need to add registries to 3 more then they will be done. I will place the links in a PM to you once I finish them, any luck in getting them their break models?

News about when you will upload the fleet onto your site, as finished works?

I will also redo the Pleiades.
I already redid the lower torp launcher to match the new one and replaced the engine textures. I also up graded the side warps as well to match the ones I tend to use. I just need to redo the upper torp pod to match the Excelsior background and the other colors I use to be almost finished. Why almost, because I will have to redo the H and D points again to make it work for SFC 2 EAW/OP they are currently set for SFC 3 by the looks of things.

the Pleiades should make a good CFS+ once I finish.

Quote:

Just so i can get them off my back.
I have them RARing up as i speak.

None of them are hardpointed or Breaked except for the Pleiades. Im too lazy, and if i bother they are never going to be released.
As soon as i can upload it, then its all yours.

Well...

Got them all Hard and Damage pointed and in some cases new textures as well. The registries are done and all that is left is to upload them and send you the links. Did you get any progress on the break models?

If not can I contact the guy who said he would do them, and have them done?
