Well, here is the short version of the story:

About 4 weeks ago I was helping a friend of mine fix some siding on the side of his house that had come loose in a storm.  While working, Brian backed his truck into the ladder I was on.

Slam.  Crash.  Thud.

I landed in the vegetable garden.

If we had gotten it on video, I would be rich by now.   

Not only is my right wrist broken, but my thumb as well.  At least I only have another 2 weeks to go before the cast comes off.  I have a sneaking suspicion my arm hair has turned green.

It has been taking me a LONG time to type anything and doing graphics work has been impossible since I'm fairly worthless at using a mouse left-handed.  I'm very lucky I have an incredibly understanding employer!

The good news (for Brian at least) is that I have full VA medical coverage for being a disabled vet, so no medical bills.

Well... I'm still working on Scene 6, but it doesn't look like I will have it done before I take off on a 4 day vacation with the kids down to Virginia Beach.

I'm fairly close, and can promise to have it polished up by next week.

In other news, I had a formal request that I reformat this incredibly looooonnnnngggg epic into printer friendly pdf files.  Even with the extensive reworking this will entail, especially concerning the graphics, this sounds doable since I will be able to retain the hyperlinks I like to use in the pdf format.

I guess I'll go ahead and get started on the first two movies and do the third one after it is completed.

What I need to know is would doing the pdf versions be of interest to anyone here reading this?  And, if so, do you have any formatting suggestions for me?

For example, the main suggestion I've had right off is to cut the image sizes down to at least 100 X 100 pixels or remove them entirely.

I've also been toying with the idea of converting the images into looking like black and white sketches.

Oh Don't remoe the Images, They help with the Humor. A .PDF would be fine, as It's a free Download anyway for the commen reader.

True, given how visually oriented we males are, I really would NOT want to remove them entirely as was one of the suggestions.

Still, I DO need to do something with them to make them more printer friendly for the pdf versions.

I really won't be able to mess with the images to much until my cast comes off the week after next at any rate.

Oh, and let me be clear about this, I am only talking about the pdf versions.  The online html versions will stay the same!

Scene 6 is up.  I've been recovering from a 5 day migraine and regained conciousness just long enough yesterday to finish and post that scene.  I'm back at work today, but am still pretty wiped out.

In other news, the cast is off, but I still have to wear a wrist brace while I type and use a mouse.  This is such an improvement I really can't complain!

The amount of work that has backed up for me to do is staggering, however.

Thanks for the feedback Stephen and Kadh!  I think I am going to go with mainly just having links to the images.  I simply MUST leave in the graphics for the opening montage in MP:FotR, though.  Luckily, those are already fairly small to begin with.

I'm also looking at doing white background versions of my title graphics.

Thanks Kadh!  I've always been a huge fan of JC's... "work."  Yeah, her work!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks Kadh, I was really starting to think that no one was even reading this here anymore.  Since these Fan Fics don't appear to be visible to anyone not logged in to Dynaverse.net, I haven't even been directing viewers this way and have instead been sending them to the XC Forums and a Tolkien site called Bucklebury.

Yeah, between the "3 Klingons" and "several audience members" you are considered a given either way.  Heck, if you have a good pick of you and 2 other Klingons, I can even link you in-- wait a minute... As it happens, Ms. Givings sent me a much racier photo of herself that she insisted I use instead.  Since I didn't want any trouble (she really does have a whip, ya know!), I quickly agreed.  Clicking on Miranda will display the pic and clicking on Givings will take you to her website.  It is British humor at it's worst or finest (depending on your taste), but is it most certainly is NOT recommended for minors.

The Hydran Kingdom will graciously agree to consider your peace treaty, though it does concern us that the Klingon word for "ceasefire" is the same as "reload."

Boromir still isn't dead, by the way.  He was left wrapped up and hanging upside down from a ceiling in Shelob's Lair.

Eventually, he would be found by a group of Orc children who would nickname him "Mr. Pinata."

The reason I mention this is because I actually just had a Boromir fangirl club contact me wanting to know "what the (censored) problem was I had with such a multilayered brilliantly wonderful character like Boromir."

The truth is that my treatment of Boromir is just what I think is funny and in keeping with the spirit of Mony Python.  However, since they just HAD to bother me about it, ol' Boromir is REALLY in for it now. (insert diabolical laughter here)

In the novels, I didn't really like Boromir all that much.  I think the movie made him a much more interesting character.

My "slight" bias against Boromir and Denethor comes from the first time I read the books back in 1984.  The characters just struck a bad chord with me and, I suppose it's true, first impressions are lasting ones.

The movies did much to improve Boromir while I like Denethor even less than before!

As for Faramir, however, the movie's mistreatment of one of my favorite characters is the reason I have PJ roasting over an open flame at the end of MP:TTT.

yeah, the theatrical release kills Faramir.  However, the extended version does a much better job on the character.  It provides the critical explanation for why he acts the way he does and why he releases the hobbits in the end.

Indeed it is and I have been there myself.  What did you think of working at the Tavern?

The quote was a personal favorite of Benjamin Franklin and it was my studies of Dr. Franklin's life and works that first drew my attention to it.

The bridge scene was already used at the Falls of Rauros in FotR, so that's right out, I deny that completely.   

Only 3 scenes and the Narrative Conclusion to go and my Magnum Opus shall be "complete," but not finished.

I'll be doing a major rewrite of the whole trilogy (the Extended Edition, eh?), a rework of ALL the images to avoid copyright issues, create an easy to print pdf version, and then (once all that is finished) I'll get started sketching out the enchanting prelude Monty Python: There and Back Again.

That is quite a bit of work, but (if I can stick to my current schedule) I should be starting on MP:TaBA by this Christmas.
