SFB-OP lives!
« on: October 22, 2004, 09:08:56 pm »
A server based on the SFB OP mod on an F&E map with a large mission selection. Traditional alliances.

Installers      Webmap

VCs:

 - New territory held at end of server (2303): 1 per hex, 3 per base, 5 per planet (any territory held on a hex with an enemy on the other layer is worth double!).

 - PvP: PvP kills posted on this thread with a screenshot attached and confirmed on the webmap battles and destroyed ships records are worth 5. Post the film in the D.net library under "General" with the prefix "SFBOP04-" on the filename for a bonus 5!

 - Special: First Large Space Dragon and Juggernaught Kills - 5 for a screenshot attached to a post on this thread, Post the film in the D.net library under "General" with the prefix "SFBOP04-" on the filename for a bonus 5!

 - Additional special VCs TBA...

Rules:

 - Standard sporting conduct rules apply.

 - 1 hex LOS required (deepstrikes allowed - no disengagement)

 - "soft" disengagement rule - 2 turns (20 minutes) destroyed or disengaged.

 - Maximum two accounts (One empire, One Cartel - do not abuse to "rotfur").
   Accounts can be deleted on request if you change your mind.

 - Fleets allowed according to SFB CnC (as close as possible).
   Any single ship available is legal because of the way OP works.
   A leader or command version in a fleet requires two ships of equal class as well.
   No more than one specialty ship per fleet (bombardment, escort, leader or command ships)
   Maximum of one carrier per fleet. (a carrier in a fleet requires an escort and vice-versa...)

OoB:

 - Battleships, dreadnaughts and bases will only be made available on a first-come-first-served basis Sundays from 12-4PM ADT for those that can afford them. Heavy battlecruisers and carriers will be unrestriced but expensive as well.

Races:

Empires as normal,
Korgath = Tholian
Prime = Andro
Wyldefyre = WYN
Camboro = LDR
Orion = Orion
Beastraiders = Juggernaught, Space Dragon and stock BeastRaiders
Tigerheart and Syndicate are non-playable.

Settings:

 - Movement 2, draft radius 0, gamespeed 8.
 - 10 minute turns, starting year 2263, 1 year/day (server runs 40 days).
 - Destroyable bases
 - 107 missions used: 20 Stock, 24 EEK, 51 ED, 12 TG, up to 5 presented at once.
 - Andromedan "Deep Scan" will simulate displacement and Tholian tractor will simulate the web snare on Enemy Sweep Patrol. (as incentive to fly Thol or Andro)

Thanks, Scipio - only had to copy it... there may be a few errors remaining, and the cartel regions are obviously adapted.

(P.S. additional server info added to initial post)

To attach a file to a post, click the "Additional Options" link under text box where you type your post, and browse to the desired file using the "Browse" button to the right of the "Attach:" textbox. The file selected will be uploaded when you submit your post.

To submit a film to the Dynaverse.net library go here: http://www.dynaverse.net/v2/repository_upload.php and select "Film_Room/General", browse to your film (which you have saved as SFBOP04-SpaceDragon.rec) and press upload!

Bonk, while tutoring for a nice Taiwanese family sits down to join them for dinner:

Host: Bonk, you like "little chicken"?

Bonk: Um, I've prepared frogs legs in a 4 star French cuisine resort. I know 'em when I see 'em!

Host: Oh...

Hey, Bonk, I've tried deep scan as an Andro a few times, and nothing happens.  What is supposed to happen?

-S'Cipio

It's only in Enemy Sweep Patrol (a GAW prototype mission), press deep scan and you will zoom ahead at speed 500, press it again and you will come to a full stop. Its strictly a test of the possible scripting functionality really, but it's fun to play with. Same goes for the Tholian tractor ("web snare").
